The classic reading competition is an important part of the Chinese literature competition, which aims to deepen students' understanding and love of traditional culture through reading classic poetry. Entries must be selected from Chinese classical poetry, prose, or modern classical literature and be limited to 3-5 minutes. Performances can take the form of individual recitations, group recitations, or soundtrack recitations, encouraging the incorporation of appropriate body language and emotional expressions. The scoring criteria include: 20 points for content selection, which requires the work to be classic and positive; 40 points for language expression, which requires pronunciation standards, clear rhythm, and sincere emotion; 25 points for performance effects, which requires generous manners and strong appeal; and 15 points for overall impression, including costume, soundtrack, and stage effects. The order of play shall be determined by the drawing of lots, and 5 points shall be deducted for overtime of more than 30 seconds.
